Maybe he was joking, maybe not. The guy had seen me show up with my Carrera and we did buy the Cayenne from them (different salesman though) without financing.
I am sure he would have checked my credit reports had I said yes, but his attitude was nice.
Another time I went in to ask if they had a cheap 996 (a stop gap until the 3.9 was ready and before I bought the 993) and spoke with another salesman about 911s for 1 hour. Well the guy is a PCA member and drives an 87 Carrera. And for him the 993 was the best ever 911....
The Parts guys here are the best. Once I was at VIR for a 3 day event. On Friday the dist cap on the 3.6 broke. I called the dealer and they had one in stock. I talked to the parts guys, explained the situation and that I was going to drive down from VIR to pick up the part that evening.
They waited 30 mins after closing time for me so that I could get back on the track the next day.
Not all Porsche dealers are a**holes.
