Yes to what Sammy said, they are a beautiful classic super car but for half the price you could have a shiny new Porsche that will kick it's butt on all levels.
Although I'm sure anyone buying a 959 is doing it as a collectible car, much like a 67 big block corvette etc.
I know the legend* is that only a few were shipped here and those were impounded or shipped back but the frequency that they show up at cars shows and for sale indicates (to me) that they got here somehow.
*and fact that they were not street legal here.
