I bought a new stainless Cosmograph (Daytona) in the mid-eighties for about $1,750. I didn't wear the watch much and sold it a few years later, when the prices went up on those. I thought I did well at the time to double my money. If I'd kept it I could sell it for $15,000 today. Bummer.
