I left the Northeast because of the Winters. Most of my interests require being outdoors. Since the Winters in upper NYS were damp, cold, grey, lots of snow and ice, etc, my relocating gets two years of oudoors for every year of life rather than only a half year per year. Yeah,,,when I was younger, I skiied, and all the rest of the Wintry things. Age and a few broken bones cured me of that, and many pratfalls walking down the street to the busline due to overnight freezes of the knee deep snow that fell a few days ago and thawed, froze, thawed, froze, you get the picture. I have friends all over this great nation. All of them have positives and negatives about their chosen home state. The east has some beautiful vistas, and summers are generally pleasant except for the bugs. Falls are beautiful, and the first snowfall isalways a treat. After that.......

I can look out my patio door and, 18 miles away, I can see the snow covered peaks of the Catalina Mountains, the site of the lower 48's southernmost ski facility. Less than an hour and a mile and a half higher I can have all the Winter I will ever need.

60 degree winters? When do you want that truckload of Cacti sent? Have you decided on how many palm trees you want?
