A good friend of mine works for Toyota. He is what they call a, "green field" engineer...meaning he, his teams and many others get to the "green field" and build a car plant.
He is now living in San Diego, working on a HUGE plant in Tecate, MX. I was grateful to get a tour of the plant he helped build in Evansville, Indiana.
His opinion? It is not so much about the engineering as it is about management. Toyota lets their engineering talent be talented.
