Well, they'd be welcome at ANY Porsche event I'd ever want to attend. If they weren't, then I don't want anything to do with the event or the snobs attending. (They probably wouldn't allow any black Audi's anywhere near the event either, but that's another issue altogether).

These things are an incredible tribute to the original, and are not being represented as anything other than that.

For a lot of people, this is the closest thing that they will ever come to "living the dream", and I'm sure they evoke much the same emotional response as would driving an original/authentic 917.

Personally, I'd probably enjoy one of these more as I wouldn't feel QUITE as bad if I pranged it off some armco while driving the crap out of it at the track, and it's probably a little safer in that it's new and isn't as fatigued as just about every authentic/original 917 must be by now.


I'd be all over one of these like a fat kid on ice cream.
