Regarding backpressure, the inlet is the same size, there is different/less internal baffling, and the tailpipe is larger. There's definitely less back pressure but nothing like a change to SSIs or headers. You still have the standard heater boxes and catalyst (if you still have that installed). BTW, Dansk's catalog says "up to 20 more HP" but that's optimistic, unless you also change to the Euro premuffler and change the chip.
Regarding sound, that's pretty subjective and can be hard to describe. It's louder than stock, maybe 10-15%? , but not in an raspy, annoying way. Just deeper and throatier. It's got a great throaty sound at idle, a bit deeper through the midrange, screams a bit more at wide open on the top end. It's somewhere between stock and the louder mufflers, like GHL, B&B, Monty or M&K.
I also had this installed with the Dansk Euro-style premuffler, which is a bit louder than the cat, so that's a factor too.
