I guess the concensus is, here and elsewhere, to not buy unless you can lay your hands on it. Makes sense. But the temptation!
I will look at Gretsches and Rickenbackers locally. I'll see about fitting the ebony fingerboard to whatever I get, but not the tele because I want a hollow body.
