This looks like the Apple portable device that Apple fans have been waiting for, ever since Jobs killed the Newton. (I took all my MBA notes on a MessagePad 2100, what a great product.)

I am probably going to buy one. Only issue is if it will synchronize with Outlook email and calendar similar to a Blackberry - if not, I am staying w/ Blackberry, by necessity. A little wary about abandoning Verizon for Cingular, but seems like the gap in coverage quality has narrowed quite a bit - Verizon used to be head and shoulders the best, now its just a head and one shoulder.

The Apple TV (formerly iTV) is very cool too. I'm not sure how much I'm really interested in downloading TV shows though - I don't have time to watch much TV, our set is ancient, and when I do watch TV my taste runs more to Star Trek reruns, Guns & Ammo TV, and Formula One, than anything off the Disney etc list. Just not sure the content is compelling enough yet.

The new Airport Extreme with 802.11n is going to find a place in my house, assuming I can update the iMac and my work Thinkpad to "n".

Confession - like an idiot, I sold part of my AAPL on Friday. My logic was that Street consensus already firmly expected an iPhone for launch 1Q and Street analysts were already modeling some 20MM units into 2007 numbers, so upside if iPhone was announced for immediate launch was less than downside if iPhone was not announced, or was merely previewed like iTV was last year. In fact, AAPL target of 10MM units in 2008 is well under Street assumptions. But no matter, the device is so awesome that stock rocked anyway. I was dead wrong. Arrgh. But I still benefited from the stock jump, just could have done more. I also confess I won't sleep well at night until the SEC decides it isn't forcing Steve Jobs out for options backdating. If he gets the axe, that stock will be cut in half.
