I also detest the Mac GUIs. And the XP GUI. And the Vista GUI. I use XP on my laptop in classic view.
Whether or not UNIX is an OS for children is a moot point, since OSX isn't UNIX, IIRC. I don't recall Apple getting it UNIX certified by The Open Group, who holds the UNIX TM. Small, nitpicky point, but PPOT seems to thrive on those.
And SGI, DEC, SUN and others had/have, IMO, much nicer GUIs than either Apple or MSFT. Irix, anyone? CDE on SunOS/Solaris?
