I love rat rods when they use real old cars as a starting point, and then build it up leaving the body and interior rough.
They start to get a bit tacky when they are artificially "aged". It's not unlike furniture. I love old furniture, either restored or with original patina. But new furniture that's been torched, beat and sanded to look "aged" seems a bit tacky.
That 37 is nice, but I think they took it "aging" a bit far. The primer/rust areas look too symmetrical to be real.
