Well I imagine a "trooper who just return" does not really have all the facts regarding "any" government contract. Scuttlebutt is just that. The website/article you did link was downright silly

I sincerelly doubt there are any E-1s under 4 mths serving in Iraq....and your total left out the tax-free allowances for food, housing, and clothing....which pushes the rate well above $20K.
