My heating system stopped working last night, been flakey for awhile but now it won't turn on at all.

House was 53F this morning, unpleasantly chilly. 36F outside, around 25-28F at night. Have a little electric heater plugged into the living room outlet, trying to heat all 3300 sq ft of house - and faiing.

Furnace repair guy on his way. I went down to look at the furnace but couldn't make heads or tails of it, and considering it handles gas and electricity and runs unattended in the basement, decided not a suitable topic for DIY experimentation.
