Glad you made it through--serious stuff.
FYI, since you're in VA and likely face horrible, humid summers, try a product called eload (
www.eload.net) for hydration.
During a training cycle, I'll run 60-85mpw, even in the dead of texas summer--and eload keeps me hydrated much better than gatorade. If you have a sensitive stomach, its acid content is less than the other sport drinks, too.
You can get it at bike and triathlon shops--never seen it at running stores.
