My mom is on her third one and has had the same experience as Curt with his conv. top. The car has been in the shop over 20x since she bought it in July. She hates it with a passion now. Her '88 900 turbo cab was at least as problematic, but with 186k miles on it, didn't owe her too much more.

My folks always say how extravagant I am for having the cars I do, but mine never ever leave me stranded and I spend far less on maint. and aggravation than they do on their SAAB's. 993 has never been in the shop for a mechanical issue. BMW is the same.
