My boat got sprayed the first year I had it. Personally, I would have done exactly what you did, but I wasn't paying. They did some work on the deck, and cleaned up a bit of osmosis at the same time.
I didn't DIY that, but I would have. The boat had been vandalized during a stike at work, so the company paid for the whole thing.
