Its clearly an attempt to confirm if this is an real threat or another idiot. I say idiot as most people, even the stupid ones (like the two posting above) know that if you threaten the President the secret service will be visiting you.

The letter was a "letter to the editor" of a newspaper, and it threatened no one.
I know you're a supporter of the all powerful centralized state, and an unrestricted federal police, but so far, Joe, we don't quite have that yet. So, you'll have to wait for a few years.
