Cincinnati, a great place to be from. As long as you don't live there anymore. I'm a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and my family moved from Dry Ridge to a little town called Hamilton, just down the road from Oxford.

We use to go over to Covington / Newport back in the days when that's where all the excitement was (Cincy is a very, very conservative city). Now, northern Kentucky is a nicer, respectable place.

Pricing for land in Northen KY was been increasing every year. People who work in Cincy began moving there for affordability and the rolling hills. If you are looking for 30+ acres, you're probably going to be commuting a ways. Land isn't as cheap around there as it once was.

Winters are grey. Summers around August are humid (being that you are in Texas, you might not even notice). Ohio is a police state. More highway patrol than you can ever imagine (revenue stream).
