Hi All,

Been shopping around for my fiance who wants a off-road wagon type vehicle like a Subaru Outback. We like kayaking and camping and want better ground clearance than a normal wagon, but we HATE SUVs and how they drive.

I've seen a lot of 2001-2003 Volvo V70 XC wagons around our $10-12K price range, about the same price or less than an Outback! I like the uniqueness of the Volvo better.

I know Volvos used to be very dependable and built to last, but that was back in the days of the 240 model before Ford bought them out. Are they still reliable these days or have you heard about service issues? They have an odd 5 cylinder engine.
