This was discussed at length on Rennlist.
The $28k number is approximately 25% high, if you exclude the VW biz. But the attributable net profit per car is still 6-8x higher than any other major carmaker.
So you can still be outraged at the gouging bastards, just not quite
as outraged as the original article suggests.
