This is one of my all-time best steals. It began life as a bone stock, Springfield Mil-Spec. 1911 in stainless. Some poor guy on Glocktalk had to get rid of her after he had had a trigger job done and used the barrel for something else. So I got the gun for - ta da - $275 delivered, albeit with no barrel.
I rounded up a beavertail, skeletonized hammer, trigger, guide rod kit and barrel on eBay (all new) for under $100 total. Then I shipped her off to Robar to have a front dovetail cut for Trijicon tritium sights, the other stuff fitted and the whole schmear redone in Roguard and NP3. They did the wrong trigger, but I'm sure they'll make it right later. Anyway, the UPS man just brought it back to me. My photography skills SUCK. But here she is.
Here she is with her reverse finish twin.
NRA Range is closed tonight, but I'll be there when they open tomorrow at 5:00.
