Common problem. The blower motor bearings dry out prematurely due to the cold and dry environment they live in. If it's just an occasional or mild squeak, you can probably get by with lubing up the bearings for a while. If it's screaming like a banshee, you'll want to just replace the motor.
Personally, next time I have to crack mine open to lube it, I'm going to fab up some sort of remote oiling tubes that can be reached from inside the smuggler's box. Too much of a pain to work with as often as this needs to be done!
