In the same vein I have an earlier '76 2.7.
On the passenger side of the engine compartment there is an oblong shaped cannister with tubes going to & fro.
I guess this is some kind of evaporative control for the fuel tank breather.
Can I remove this? Local laws do not require it to be fitted, I've actually never seen it on Euro cars but car started it's life in the US.
If so, what do I do with the pipes?
Does the main breather from the fuel tank (if the can is what I think it is) need to be fitted with a one way valve with the can gone?
