WRONG!!!
The policies of the Progressives were regressive in their effect. The redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor reduced opportunities for the poor in the private sector and made the poor slaves of the government.
The trend continues today, evidence the regressive policy of increasing the minimum wage...but that's part of another thread.
