In my 11+ years of being around these cars, looking at sales brochures, judging cars and being on these web boards, I have not heard about a 3.2 option for a street car. That's not to say that it doesn't exist.
I have a factory sales brochure (US market) from 1983 and there is no mention of a different engine choice for an option for model year 1983. However, the ROW models probably had different options.
However, Peter Morgan's book does list an option code for a high output Turbo motor that was available for the 3.2 Carreras. Whether or not that option code was ever used or made available is another thing...
My point is that any claim of a 3.2 racing engine as a factory option for an SC needs some pretty good proof verses taking someone's word for it that is selling a car...
