I got a feeling they use both around here. Sometimes I see the local LEO's parked on a side street eating a jelly donut, with a dashboard mounted unit. That would most likely be Radar.
However I've seen the State LEO's leaning over thier car like they are a sniper or something.....I suppose that would mean they have the.... "Laser" (said like Dr. Evil with my fingers making the quotation marks)
