[Dueller]

While at a local car night Saturday I struck up a conversation with a fellow admiring my old '87 911 Carrera. He'd always wanted a 911 and wanted to know what they were worth nowadays. He was a bit suprised at how "cheap" they were. And then he hit me with this....would I consider a trade for his older C5 'vette (1998).

His car was in nice shape and was showing 60K less miles than my 911. But I immediately said I wasn't ready to part with old faithful.

Afterwards, I began thinking about it. Checked the KBB values and looked in classifieds and 911 and C5's were selling for about the same. And thoughts of new 500hp crate motors for the same amount we pay for 100K mile used 3.2's crossed my mind. And how much fun I had in a friends C5 with a 6 speed.

In the end, I decided that I really really liked my car...and within reason there was nothing I'd really want in its stead.

So here's the question...What would you trade your 911 for? An earlier model? Later model? A new Carrera GT? A 550 spyder? Well lets be reasonable here..LOL

Keep in mind the cost of ownership and it would be a car for you to own and drive as you do your current ride...not turn around and make a quick profit on. Or to park in a museum...
