Cam timing is complete, I think. HELP

This may go down as the dumbest question ever asked but I completed the cam timing per Wayne's book and the Bentley manual tonight and everthing seemed to work out fine.

My question is I took pictures before the engine was torn down and comparing the left/right sid cam sprockets the pins were only spaced about 3 holes apart from each other. Here's the pictures

I've been working long hours and am probably loosing it but now the pins are about 180 degrees apart (sorry no pictures). Shouldn't the pins be pretty close in spacing to where I took them apart after it's timed again?

My cam timing procedure
Set valve clearance #1 intake
Turn to TDC
set up dial indicator
turn until I get the correct lift on dial (1.25mm)
take out cam nut and pin
turn to line up notch with case split
reinsert pin and torque bolt
turn over twice and check lift
repeat for #4

Semmed pretty simple but the pictures got me thinking I messed up, I can't envision why the pins would have moved.
