I think also, in additon to the loss of performance, and others please correct me if I am wrong, but with your modifications you will most likely need to "fatten" up the CO which is not good for the cat (clog/ burn it up), and if you run the car lean for the cat then you risk damage to yor engine. Also, the cat generates a tremendous amount of heat that I would think you would want to eliminate...
