A serious note:

When I was younger, I loved to see the snow since I was an avid cross country skiier. For years, I dreaded March and looked for shady areas in the skiing locales so I could get in that "one last run". Despite two broken collar bones over the years, I loved the crisp cold and the feeling of freedom.

Unfortunately, I got older. Winter, especially in the "snowbelt" became a chore of keeping the driveway clean (especially when it would thaw during the day, re-freeze at night), and icy roads. I remember the skiing with fondness and do not regret one minute of the time I spent outside. But, there comes a time when one just has to pack it in.

The point? Enjoy it while you can. It is heaven. Savor every opportunity to get out and feel the crispness and purity of Winter. I, for one, now view the snow from a safe distance on the top of the mountains about 18 miles away.
