I believe that the tow machines etc were the ones frozen to the ground. The prob was that there were a whole bunch on the runway hoping the storm would lift for a few seconds so they could take off
-like that was going to happen. The gates then got filled up w/arrivals, and the machines froze up not allowing them to push the empties back....
Sounds like a lot of free vacations..
