Well, it's not MY $12k. My grandma has promised me a vintage Porsche when I graduate from college. I still have at least another year to go. However, she told me that she'd rather buy me the car and be able to see it and watch me enjoy it while she's alive (she's 88).
Hell, she told me she'd write the check tomorrow. And yes I have a garage to put it in. It's a question of convincing my parents. That's the big issue...
