Hi Katie,
I have read through six pages and have to get off to work so can't finish but it already looks like the folks here have dissuaded you from buying.
As a grizzled old dude who has noting in common with you but this is my two cents,
I "had to have a 944" and "found the one" and bought it...
Don't get me wrong I love my car and got a lot of good years out of it BUT.
Now it sits in the garage waiting on around $1000 in engine repairs AND now I know what I really wanted is a 944S2 but people told me "good luck in finding one of those" so instead I went out and got the next best thing.
All that to say it is easy to get wrapped up in the "this is the only one" syndrome when in reality Porsche made thousands of cars. Take a quick look at ebay and autotrader and I bet you you can find several other cars you could fall in love with.
