Yep, I just saw the trailer on TV for the first time. I watched "Forza Motorsports" on Speed TV. It's a "reality" show sponsored by the video game. It's actually a bit interesting. They have 6 "amatuer" drivers, and 6 cars and they are putting them through several different types of competition, 1/4 mile drag, 2x road course (Road Atlanta), drifting, autoX, and there might be something else, I can't remember. With each race the teams get credits to upgrade their cars.
The cars, 2x 350Z, 69 Camaro from Year One, '73 Dodge Challenger from Year One, new Mustang something or other, and new Vette. Most of the cars aren't completely stock already.
The drivers, (from memory)a guy in his 40's that's been racing dirt circles for 20 years, a guy in his 30's that runs IRL and some other stuff, a 23 yo chick that's run something on road course, a 17 yo boy that's got 5 years experience racing midgets, a mid 20s asian kid that drifts, and a 30 something guy that has 10 years of autoX experience.
The mustang with the chick driving (who said she had never drag raced) won the drag race. The 17 yo kid just barely took the first Road Atlanta road course in the Vette and almost got smoked by the Asian kid in the 350Z. It was very sad. I think the kid in the vette was holding the car back.
Now an interesting episode of Pinks is on. I've never watched Pinks before because it looked dumb, but in this one they had over 200 people show up with their privately owned cars to try out for the show. Seeing all of these people try out by running their cars has been pretty impressive. Most of the people that they chose for the semi finals are running around 10 flat. There were some people running low 9's like 9.0, and at least one person hit 161mph. That's haulin' butt. I love speed around corners, but a good firm kick in the butt when you hit the gas is pretty cool too. The range of drivers and cars is pretty cool. A chick driving a '62 Ford truck just barely squeaked by a guy driving a 2005 Vette.
