I had some numbnut redneck in a diesel dually Dodge trying to intimidate me this morning while driving my lowered miata. Fortunately, I'm not intimidated easily. I'm not sure what triggered it either. About 6 cars went past as I sat in the center median waiting to go. After the last one passed I pulled out, the truck had bet in the middle of the group that I was waiting for. I rolled up to the next light in the left hand lane as all of the cars that had passed me were in the right lane. As I pulled up to the light the guy in the truck aggressively pulled over behind me. It seemed a bit weird especially how close he was to the back of me. When the light turned green he stuck to my butt and turned his lights on which seemed weird and like a ploy to annoy me. He then I pulled up and changed lanes and he aggressively followed me and swerved back and forth a couple of times looking like he was trying to warm up his tires. He was (right) behind me for about 2 miles. I then changed lanes and was able to put a car between us. He passed that car in the center median to be able get behind me again. I then managed to put several cars and some space between us and then turned. He ended up going straight. I never really felt frightened, but I definitely got the feeling that he was trying to intimidate me.

I know that when people are being idiots in their cars tailgating or whatever, they don't really want to get into an accident. I don't brake check, but I will let off of the gas with them behind me and let the engine braking slow me down. Under normal circumstances it wouldn't be an issue, but when they are surging at your backside it's usually enough to put a scare into them that what they are playing at could actually happen. It's amazing when they think that you are wiling to get hit in the rear how far back they usually end up.
