Please, ask Craig. He seems to know more that everyone else. You are right, I know a lot more about his situation.
I was just in Moscow, then Berlin at the factory service center where the plane was heading.
Talked to the people there and got the story from the factory engineers in Berlin but its funny that no one mentioned that the "pilots were screwing around" in any of the conversations. They did mention that the right engine puked on takeoff and was spitting flames just as it rotated, then rolled on its right side flipping on its top.
Two of the three onboard were still in a medically induced coma the last I heard, with the third person still in the hospital.
