Turbo Front Wheel Bearing Access
I was checking my 1987 front suspension a while back and had the front jacked up yanking and twisting. I was checking for any slop in the suspension and tie rods. I noticed that the right front wheel had a little extra play in the front wheel bearings. Figured I would replace the bearings and seal when I repacked them. Interesting enough, the dust cap is completely recessed in the adapter and not easily removed. I also noticed that it has a spot welded threaded bung or boss in the center. How do you guys remove the cap? I did a query on the net for a tool and didn't come up with one. I was thinking of making a puller out of C channel and a 8 MM stud and bolt to screw in the bung and pull it out... Like a VW oil pump puller for those of you who have seen one. Is there a tool available?
Thanks
Bob
