Sure, I didn't mean it that way. We're all products of our experiences, so changing a big experience in your past would change how you became the person you are. Being happy is largely dependent on accepting the good things and the bad things in one's past.
Like Jeff said, he probably wouldn't have met his wife of his father hadn't passed away. Life is funny sometimes. Or even most of the time.
