I need to do some air and water hoses involving 90º fittings. Browsing through the McMaster catalog I found push-on hose, which looks easy for DIY and has a nice selection of ends available. Page 254 at

Is this type of fitting reliable for long term use? No clamps--it just "pushes on" to a special barbed fitting.
Push on fitting are rated for 350psi with no clamps. Traditional barbed fitting with a clamp are only rated for 150psi. I must be missing something...
