There are some forms of "motorsport" that are entertaining, even though they are catered to the unsophisticated audience. Sparks, noise, fire, smoke, and crashes all appeal to the most basic emotions and instincts of human nature, but not really to the intellectual.
Tractor pulls, moster trucks, and NASCAR come to mind.

Drifting is kinda neat to watch for a little while, at least long enough for the commercial on the other channel to get over with, and there is no reason it couldn't be done as an exibition or something (kinds like stunt men who crash cars) but turning it into a competition? that's where they lose me.
Maybe it just reminds me too much of some 16 year old punk kid who just got his license and his daddy's car and is doing donuts in the parking lot.
