The Democrats may be pansys, but they are not misinformed. Saddam rolled over and allowed the inspections, The UN wouldn't sanction the war, our allies who had the same intelligence information as the US wouldn't sanction the war, and the US flat out made up intelligence to justify the war. Going in to get the bad guy was what we said after no WMDs were found because there were none, just as Ritter said and was smeared for .
And none of this really addresses the gross incompetancy of how the war has been conducted, the wholesale destruction of a functioning culture, or the fact that no matter what we do now, Iraq is no longer a functioning entity, and that world opinion of the US is at an all time low, while those willing to oppose us have at the least quadrupled. Do you really think you can drop a bomb on someones relatives and they will welcome you in as liberators ? We have done more to create havoc and disorder in the middle east than Saddam at his worst. No doubt more Iraqis have suffered from our presence and the lack of order we created.
The saddest part is that this administration obviously has no real plan except to look busy. People, and I mean good citizens of Iraq, are fleeing the country in droves, leaving it to our newly federated enemys, the ones we didn't have six years ago. The US public has seen this horror show for way too long, and yet some still want to say ''Wait it just keeps on getting better !". Yeah, these colors don't run. They just dribble off your chin. You have no idea what it would take to win in the middle east, and cheap shots aren't fooling anybody. Worst of all you believe what you say. How sad.

This is an excellent post. I agree with all of it, except the “Democrats are pansys part.”
You don’t see any Democrats complaining about the war in Afghanistan, do you? Saying pull our troops out? Saying the war was wrong? No, you see Democrats saying we need to send more troops, not only to continue to fight the Taliban, but in particular to find Bin Laden. Not nearly enough has been done in this war.
No, Democrats are not pansys. There is a time to fight and a time for a political solution. Afghanistan is clearly a time to fight.
