Could this be referred pain? When did the pain start? What are your normal activities? Could a Chiropractor help or just a visit with the Orthopedist?
I think you need to identify when the pain started and what might have caused the pain. Some things are fixed surgically, some can be handled by a competent Chiro. Some are treated medicinally and go away with proper exercise/rehab.
In your case, I'd suggest cutting it off to see if it feels better... smiley wavey
Of course, I'm also just joking... I put up with mine for 20+ years with occassional visits to the Chiro until my wife, the Chiro, referred me to the Orthopedic surgeon for surgery.
