Every year, my daughters and I try to be the first to jump in the pond. Tuesday it is supposed to be in the high 60's and the ice around the perimeter has melted, so I may take the plunge when I get home from work. (I will make a mad dash for the hot tub immediately after
).
A few years ago, I saw my youngest daughter walking towards the pond on an early warm spring day in her swimsuit from the window of my shop. I stripped to my underwear and made a dash for the water's edge and beat her by a couple of seconds!
Pretty silly and probably TMI, but the race to be the first in the pond has become a family tradition.
