Nope, no need to remove the door panel. The switch just comes straight out. Gently pry it with a screwdriver, if needed. Pull the plug off the back, plug into the new switch, and push the new switch into the door. It's about a 30 second repair job.

Some people have had success repairing the old switch. Take it apart, drill out the broken plastic piece, and replace with a tiny piece of metal, like a short section of a paper clip. Good Luck!
