Man, you can always find another 911. So, if the '73 911 S sold for 150K last year in totally original and non running with 7xx miles on it, you think an XKE is not a very valuable car? Now, it's been awhile, so I don't remember my models like I used to. But, is this a Series I. Roadster or coupe? I think they even had the 2+2 out by then, so models vary in price. I think this one has the bigger motor and the synchromesh trans.

Milt,
You are close. Series 1 was from 1961 until 1963 or so, and had a 3.8 liter engine. Series 2 was 1964 until 1967 and had a bigger 4.2 engine. Series 3 was 1968 and later with the open headlights and smog crap on it. The first series were the true sports cars and fast and fun. Series 2 was more refined yet still fun.
The S3 and later cars were gutless wonders compared to the early models, and had the big bumpers and such.
