Assume that you are getting a light on the router for the port where the older computer cable is plugged in?

Right click on the start button and open "explorer" then when it opens click on and highlight the "local disk C" drive. Then right click on the "C" drive and select "sharing," then click in the box where it says to "Share this folder" then click OK.

If they are from the same workgroup they should be shaking hands now.
