The people working within a corporation are, or should be, ethical. We expect that from them and usually get it. Usually.
But when it comes to corporations, we expect them (corporation) to not consider ethics. We insist. A company that passes on profit opportunities because of ethical considerations is behaving badly. And the actual decision-makers are guilty of malfeasance. Just as you say.
Either dispute that or run away.
