Close! I ditched the Lucas alternator way back in 1977 on my Jag and its worked much better ever since. Found a Chrysler alternator that bolted right up and the electrical maladies stopped right away.
Just do not ask me about why they use brown ground wires everywhere...

PS why does a Jag leak oil? Its a cat and its marking its area with the scent. (Thank God mine does not leak... yet)
