I'm not sure if this helps, but on my Carrera, the alarm can be activated either by turning the key clockwise until it clicks, then back 90 degrees to pull the key out, or by turning clockwise and pulling the key out.
It took me awhile to figure out how to arm and disarm the thing. Apparently it works both ways.
