Black looks like crap. Keep the gold! I had bought similar period BBS wheels, also in gold centers with polished lip, and I was planning to paint them, but they look so different. I get compliments on them all the time at track days and autoxs...more than I do with the Fuchs! Old school...yes...but that was the look back then.
If you must paint, I'd go with a nice BBS light silver for the middles, and leave the lips polished.
